Chapter 52

Revisiting the Past

By Khurram Ali Shafique

It is possible to break up your journey into seven stages:

1. Stage 1 started with meeting Iqbal as the Poet in the Garden and led you to the Old Man of the Desert.

2. Stage 2 started with recognizing your connection with Shams of Tabriz and led to recognition of a connection with the Quran.

3. Stage 3 started with Goethe and ended on Shakespeare.

4. Stage 4 started with Khizr and this is where you are now. Joseph is to be found here.
The remaining three stages are as yet unseen but the journey is now appearing to be a process of reinventing yourself.

DISCUSS

  • Are there similarities between your journey through the Garden and the seven steps of the inner child?

  • Does this break-up of journey into seven stages give you some insight about the rest of it? What tools would be helpful in making such forecasts if it is possible?
